At the end of January, hundreds gathered at Beau Sejour for the Sportingbet Sports Personality of the Year Awards, celebrating the wealth and breadth of talent from right across the islands – topped off with an appearance from special guest, retired world boxing champion, Joe Calzaghe.
Having won three awards at the Guernsey Awards For Achievement, the staff and management at the Old Government House Hotel celebrated by staging a drinks and canapés reception at the hotel. Guests were treated to a cocktail created especially to mark the occasion.
Some of the island’s young and promising junior golfers have been recognised at the Guernsey Golf School’s end of season prize giving at La Grande Mare Golf Course. Prizes were awarded to the top golfers across selected categories of competition which ran throughout the course of the season.
