| GBG visited the offices of MOONPIG.COM and interupted their busiest month of the year to ask them if they would be making any New Year’s resolutions as 2009 approaches. | |
THE QUESTIONS (a) Do you normally make a New Year’s resolution? (b) Can you remember what resolutions you made last year and did you stick to them? (c) What resolutions will you make this year? | |
 | NAME: Rob Perry (a) Mmmmmm. No, I don’t really because I don’t feel the need to! I did the giving up smoking years ago and succeeded. It’s a great thing to inspire people but I don’t need it. It is good for a new start but I think it should be done anytime of the year if there is something you feel strongly about. (b) I didn’t make any last year as I was too busy here at Moonpig to keep to them. Come to think of it, that is bad! I really should have more time shouldn’t I? Seriously no, I didn’t make any resolutions but maybe it is something to think about. (c) I haven’t got any bad habits so I can’t think of one that I need to make for the New Year. Maybe now that I think about it I should and it would be to make more time for myself and less work work work. |
 | NAME: Linda Jayne Veloso (a) Years ago, yes I did always make a resolution but I think I am going to give up as I don’t seem to be able to stick to them no matter how hard I try I just haven’t got the willpower! (b) Last year it was to lose weight, as was the year before that, in fact it is every year. I never do manage it as life seems to take over and before you know it. I am eating too many takeaways again. I like the naughty things in life too much. (c) All of the family have decided that our New Year’s resolution is to tighten our belts and stop wasting money. We are going to try to save more and budget a little and not be too extravagant. |
 | NAME: Luis Armando Fontes Guedes Morais (a) Yeah oddly enough I do. It’s weird and it’s an excuse and I don’t keep to them but yes I do always make a New Year’s resolution! I suppose because it is tradition. Maybe if I didn’t make one then I would stick to what I say. (b) Last year I decided to go to college to play guitar and guess what? Didn’t do it! I did decide to give up smoking too and did this for six months but now I have started again. I know, I know, I’m weak willed. (c) This year I am going to save money and this is nothing to do with the scare of the credit crunch I must say. I want more time to myself and more holidays and I will only get those by saving, so wish me luck. |
