![]() | FIAT’S TOP 10 HITS Two Fiat models have made it into the top 10 cars for fuel economy in the recently published Which? Complete Guide to Greener Driving. The cars – available locally from Guernsey dealer Le Mont Saint Garage – have proven the Italian marque’s commitment to the environment and are a testament to their green credentials. The guide, which reviews the top 100 most economical cars, revealed that the Fiat Panda 1.3 MultiJet was one of only three cars to break the 60 miles per gallon barrier. ![]() | ALL THAT JAZZ It is always alarming when you drive a new car out of the dealer for the first time. The excitement of the new car is tempered by the realisation that it loses value as soon as you drive off the forecourt. But not all cars are created equal and a report has revealed that Honda’s new Jazz, available in Guernsey from Doyle Motors, offers class-leading residual values and offers customers even greater value for money. “Every now and then a car comes along that challenges the long established rules of depreciation. In this regard the Honda Jazz has confounded many,” said Jason King of EurotaxGlass’s. “Securing strong residual values and whole life costs for a car that represents quality and value for money was critical,” said Lee Wheeler, National Leasing Manager, Honda UK. |
THE NAME’S KA, FORD KA! James Bond’s taste in cars is always at the luxury end of the spectrum – Aston Martin and more recently BMW – but Ford’s new Ka makes a cameo appearance in the latest Bond flick, ‘Quantum of Solace”. In the movie, the Ka is driven by Camille, the beautiful and feisty leading lady played by Olga Kurylenko. Ford is celebrating with a series of media events including an MTV special when one lucky viewer is selected and transformed into a Bond girl, mentored over four weeks by Olga including martial arts, advanced driving, styling and a makeover. The all-new Ford Ka has already hit the big screen but won’t hit the small Guernsey roads (or UK motorways for that matter) until early 2009. |
