I read a detox-type book last year that explained how therapeutic it was to clear out your clutter. It said there are only two reasons to keep something in your life, 1) It is really useful, or 2) You really love it. If something doesn’t fall into one of those categories, it should go.

Now, of course with tig.gg so dear to my heart, my cry is constantly; ‘Use It, Love It or Tig It!’ There is something invigorating about having a really good clutter clear. Sadly Mike has not quite grasped the concept.

As you can see in the photo, he still has an original Beatles Abbey Road LP, mint condition, immaculate sleeve. (I am now in trouble for putting fingerprints all over it, but it was for the sake of the photo!)

But if you must be a hoarder, then Mike is a good example of one, as most of his clutter is still immaculate, in original boxes, packed away and labelled efficiently. There are definitely fortunes to be made if you happen to have kept hold of the ‘right’ clutter.

For me, some small memory of mine has hit the skip or the car boot with every house move. I could have held onto a few Donnie Osmond LP’s but to be honest most of them had a few biscuit crumbs, fluff, hairspray or tears streaked across them, so probably better that they did go.

Anyway our next mystery prize is something I am going to get Mike for Christmas so he can put it to good use and then sell those priceless LPs on tig. What item do you think we are miming? See if you can find the item hidden away on www.tig.gg.
